I am surprised you don't have Takerufuji in there. Even if he sat out the last tournament, he just made history with the March tournament.

I was wondering about that too. Though I don't know if he's still injured and he's only been in one tournament.

I thought about including him. For me, I just don't know if that one tournament was a fluke or not. We've seen Onosato put together three back to back basho where he's looked incredible (and improved each time). And we saw Atamifuji look great in two tournaments last year and then very average for the rest. A Takakeisho henka is all that has stopped him from being a 20 year old winner in only his second ever makuuchi tournament.

Takerufuji's yusho was amazing and I think he has a bright future, but I don't have the body of evidence to think he is special enough to repeat what we saw from him last time. He also won't be a surprise in this tournament and plenty of guys will be making adjustments in how they fight him.

I hope he proves me wrong, though!

Yeah, I love this one too. Easy to forget that Atamiufji is just 21 years old, but you can see that youth in his face here.
