We are off! Check out my May Banzuke breakdown
Today I posted my first Sumo Stomp! content since Bloody Elbow transitioned over from a Vox Media property to a fully independent site.
The sumo posts I created in the past still exist, but unfortunately the old comments were zapped during the move.
The good news is that the new site has a far surperior commenting system, handled by Disqus.
My first sumo post on the independent Bloody Elbow is a breakdown on the May rankings that we released last night.
I discuss Wakatakakage’s fall from sekiwake, the hot race for ozeki, the return of Asanoyama and Ichinojo and the rise of Kinbozan. I also have GIFs!
You can check it out here.
Please jump in the comments to let me know your thoughts on this latest banzuke and tell me what you’re looking forward to in the May tournament. Also, if you used to comment on the old site - just say hi!
Some housekeeping:
This substack has been set up purely to notify sumo fans that one of my new pieces has dropped on Bloody Elbow.
I’m not planning on creating any exclusive content here right now (I might in the future). So for that reason, please don’t consider paying for any kind of subscription here.
Best,
Tim
