Day 13 results and analysis (and gifs) are up on BloodyElbow.com (link).
This day gave us some pivotal moments as far as the next banzuke is involved and some great matches.
I love how, on any given day, any two guys in the division can put on a heck of a bout. Though, the san’yaku have delivered every single day and the sekiwake were involved in some thrilling back and forth battles on this day.
Now, for the announcement.
I’m really enjoying writing about sumo on Substack. So I’m going to do more of it.
Until now this Substack has been used to direct interested folks to my pieces on Bloody Elbow. But after this tournament ends, I’m going to write some pieces specifically for Substack.
I’m thinking of doing a report card for every rikishi in makuuchi.
Also, as an MMA writer I’ve done hundreds of interviews (some were pretty good). I’d like to try doing that for sumo.
These Substack exclusives will be premium content… that’s right, I’m gonna ask for money. There will still be free stuff here, but the kind of premium content I am planning takes time and effort and being funded to do that would make everything easier.
Also, me and Mrs. Sumo Stomp (and our little Sumo Stomper) are looking at mortgages, so every extra penny helps right now.
My subscription prices are CAD $5 a month or CAD $30 a year (the lowest Substack will let me set them). Thank you all so much for following along in this journey so far and I hope you enjoy what I have planned.
