Day 8’s results, analysis and highlights are up on Bloody Elbow (link).
Bit of a bummer today, to be honest. It seems like injuries might be the story of the tournament, with a number of rikishi going down and pulling out due to various ailments (some of which seem quite serious).
Despite that there were some good matches this day. Midorifuji vs. Daieisho was my favourite. Gonoyama vs. Atamifuji was also good. So much upside for both those guys.
Bonus gif today is Ura, reminding us some days are easier than others. But if we take a deep breath and put one foot in front the other, we just might be ok.
And now we've lost Hokutofuji and our tournament's (former) leader, Asanoyama; making "Act III" clear as mud. Lol.
