All of Day 8’s results, along with my analysis and some highlights of important matches, are up on The Fight Site for you to check out (link).
With match-making now focusing on records and not rankings, our young leaders Takerufuji and Onosato are facing step ups in competition.
Takerufuji took on Ryuden on Day 8 and Onosato met the crafty vet Tamawashi. Both those bouts are must sees.
The chasing pack had good bouts, too. We were treated to Takakeisho vs. Oho, Hoshoryu vs. Takanosho and Kotonowaka vs. Wakamotoharu.
Some under the radar bouts I enjoyed included Shodai vs. Daiamami, Gonoyama vs. Takayasu and Churanoumi vs. Myogiryu.
Bonus gif today is Kotonowaka’s kotenage on Meisei from Day 7.
