Another great day of matches went down in Nagoya. I’ve added the results, analysis and full video replay of my bout of the day (Hoshoryu vs. Asanoyama) on BloodyElbow.com (link).
At the half-way point now and we have a surprising list of leaders. I delighted with a few of the guys in the group, particularly a veteran who knows his way around an embroidery hoop.
Been thinking about what kind of content I’ll write between tournaments lately. I think I’ll do the report card series again, since I really enjoyed that.
I’m also thinking of doing a deep dive on a specific rikishi and doing an analysis run down of each of their bouts. I feel Hakuoho is the obvious choice for that. If it wasn’t his first ever top division tournament, I would go a little less obvious with someone like Wakamotoharu or even Chiyoshoma (guys who do things I like to see each and every bout).
Anyways, stuff to noodle on for sure.
Here’s you’re bonus gif. Ura being exhausted after his win over Hokuseiho on Day 6.
