Honestly, I’m still on a high from Day 3. Day 4 had some compelling match-ups, though, and the return of Kirishima — who faced Kotonowaka. Kirishima had suffered a bruised rib, so I’m not sure how wise it is to get back in there when his ozeki status is safe regardless of what happens in Nagoya this month.
You can see Kirishima’s match, along with all the results from Day 4 and my quick analysis here (link).
I’m sure you’ve heard by now that Terunofuji has left the competition, citing two injuries to his back. Those injuries apparently aren’t related to his thrilling loss to Tobizaru yesterday. His loss is a big blow to the competition, but it opens a path to yusho to a number of other wrestlers including the ozeki chasers and a few characters with surprising records to start this basho.
Bonus gif today is from Terunofuji’s Day 2 loss to Nishikigi.
