2024 Natsu basho: Day 7 results and analysis

No spoilers allowed.

Day 7 is in the books and, as we reach the half-way point in the competition, the race for yusho is on. Sadly we had some big injury news on Day 7. Those guys weren’t going to compete for the title this month, but I’ll still miss seeing them perform.

The latest results, analysis and highlights are up on The Fight Site now (link).

The top billed match-up of the day was Ura vs. Kotozakura, with Ura looking to stay perfect and Kotozakura looking to wedge himself into the title race. They produced a very interesting and high-level match.

Onosato vs. Atamifuji was one of my favourite bouts of the tournament so far. I really hope we get to see these two guys go at it for many years to come, hopefully with titles on the line.

Other bouts I really enjoyed were Hoshoryu vs. Oho, Ryuden vs. Tokihayate, Onosho vs. Gonoyama and Kotoshoho vs. Midorifuji.
